Fall Fashion That Won't Break the Bank

I'm sure by now I've made it clear that I wish it was fall. I'm tired of the heat and so over my summer clothes. I've been browsing lately for some fall clothes that are within my budget. How wonderful does dark skinny jeans with a super soft cardigan sound to ya'll? Ugh! I'm dying here! I tried to wear jeans to class today and almost passed out on my 4 min. walk from my car to class. And it was only 9 am. By the time I got back to my apartment around 1 today I was feeling anything but attractive. So without further ado, the start of my fall wishlist. I'm sure I will be adding to it over the next few months :)

I'm loving this adorable lightweight trench from Victoria Secret. What I love even more is the price tag. Only $68.00. Perfect for rainy, cool fall days.
This lightweight navy blue dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA is on sale at Nordstroms for $149.90. Marked down from $228.00. I think it's the perfect transition piece. Wear now as it is and throw a cardigan over it in the fall. In Arkansas you could probably get away without wearing anything over it until mid-October.

Anthropologie black cardigan. $98. It's a classic.

Since we can still get away with wearing short sleeves during fall in the south, I love finding tops that are dressed up and come in a fall/winter color. I would love to wear this Anthropologie top with jeans and heels to class or a casual night out. $78.00

This navy blue blazer from Ruche would look great with skinny jeans and a tank. Only $44.99!

Gorgeous scarf from Ruche. $14.99. Doesn't it just scream fall?

Ruche white cotton cardigan. $32.99. It just makes me want to cuddle :)

Hurry up fall! I can smell the pumpkin scented candles and tailgating already. :)
Hope ya'll are having a lovely week. I'm so ready for this weekend!! Hopefully the next two days will fly by!

Opinions please!

So back in May, we bought new bedroom furniture. Since then I have been trying to find a new duvet cover that made Gabe and I both happy. He wants white and I want girly. So I think I found one from West Elm that we both like. But I want ya'll opinion on it.

We have black bedroom furniture so I love the idea of white against it. I also want to be able to change out accent colors easily. Right now I'm loving black, white, and yellow. I also love black, white, grey, and blue.
Anyway, we had a busy weekend! A girl that I cheered with at UCA got married yesterday in Heber (where Gabe is from). So we spent the day visiting at his parents before the wedding that night. Today, I cleaned, ran some errands, and caught up on homework. Three more weeks of summer school!! And then I get my week and a half of summer break before the fall semester starts back up. Speaking of fall, I just want to mention again how I can't wait for it to be here. I'm looking forward to Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, wearing jeans again, less humidity, football season, Halloween, and starting my final semester of college! What are ya'll looking forward to most about fall?
Hope ya'll had a good weekend!!

It's a slow week people!

Oh my goodness this week is going by so slow for me! A lot of my problem is that I've been seriously lacking energy lately. Almost to the point that I'm wondering if I have mono or something. (great!) I've been getting enough sleep and eating well and of course taking my vitamins. I don't feel sick, just so so so tired. It honestly may just be the heat dragging me down.
-Anywho, my Summer II classes are going pretty well. I'm glad to be back in the biology department. My brief stint in physics was terrible. Not my thing at all. I'm taking microbiology this semester and I love it! I'm the nerd who gets so excited in lab while looking at bacteria. Maybe I've found my calling? :)
-My new obsession lately? No bake cookies! These were a childhood favorite for me that I recently rediscovered. I seriously have to stop myself from eating all of them in one sitting.
-My birthday is in three weeks!!
-Gabe is cooking dinner tonight and came home with a couple of movies. One of them being The Bounty Hunter with Jennifer Antison. I've heard it's terrible, but I still want to see it.

Anyway, I hope ya'lls week is going by faster than mine! Happy Wednesday!

So I am officially over Summer. It's to hot and humid! All I can think about is jeans, boots, cardigans, and being able to put makeup on without it melting right off. Oh and Razorback football :) (Go Hogs!) The problem is, in Arkansas the temps really don't feel like fall until mid-October. We try to dress for fall and risk heat stroke in September. Anyway, I am officially done buying summer clothes. I bought an incredibly cute pair of booties on Saturday and since they are suede, they must wait. I'll post pictures of them at some point when I'm not lazy and actually can go look for my camera.

I've been looking for a cute fall/winter bag that has a classic look. While I LOVE Chanel bags, lets be honest here, I can't afford them! I'm in college for crying out loud! But I do love this Kate Spade bag that has a Chanel look and is much more wallet friendly. Though it will still require some saving on my end. I think with some of my birthday money it might be a possibility.

Something else inspiring me lately are the August issues of Vogue and InStyle. Not only are they full of fall ads. (I love ads, I know I'm weird) They have two beautiful, classy ladies on the covers.

Also I hope I age like these two. Gwen is in her 30s and looks better than most 20somethings. And Courtney Cox is making 40s look downright hot! Anyone that knows me knows that I've already declared war on aging. Courtney has admitted to using Botox and I think with her it looks natural. Thoughts?
Hope ya'll are having a great week!!
Oh and I'm looking for a good book to read. Any suggestions? I've been disappointed with my summer reading list.

Celebrity Style- Olivia Palermo

If I could trade closets with anyone today, it would be Olivia Palermo. She's always so effortlessly chic. Say what you will about her personality, but you've got to admit, the girls got style!

It's Friday! We have plans tonight to eat at Bonefish with friends and then maybe to a movie. Have a fabulous weekend!

Dear Jimmy Choo,

How dare you tell me I can't have these shoes until November. NOVEMBER! My birthday is in August and this is all I asked for.
But sadly it looks like I will not be getting them since my size is apparently the hardest one to get. :(

Sincerely,

A sad birthday girl
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I know I'm being melodramatic over a seemingly simple pair of shoes, but I'm one of those people who gets stuck on something and can't let it go. This is what has happened with the Jimmy Choo Lilac Point Toe Pumps in Nude. Apparently only available at Saks, they won't ship until November. My birthday is in 3 weeks and I told Gabe this is all I wanted. Now I honestly have no idea what to tell him. I should be practical and ask for the new vacuum cleaner I so desperately need, but where's the fun in that. Oh well, I probably don't need another pair of shoes anyway.

Hope everyone has had a good week. Sorry I've been MIA. It's been hectic around here.

Rainy Sunday...

It has been yucky and rainy here today. Somehow I actually managed to be productive today though.
Friday night we had a nice quiet night in. We made dinner and had a movie marathon. By the way have any of you seen Remember Me with Robert Pattinson? Omg such a good movie! Sad, but good. Saturday we went to Little Rock so I could pick up a jumper that I had altered and so I could make that much needed trip to Sephora. (Mascara and a boat load of Bliss products!) To make the trip a little less girly, we stopped in at Buffalo Wild Wings for a beer and to watch Germany play for third place. (Oh world cup I will miss you!) Saturday night was another quiet night in with some movies. I know, we're boring. We can't help it. Today I got up early and did some grocery shopping and cleaned the apartment. We learned that Gabe's grandpa passed away last night so he's been busy all day making preparations to go to Iowa this week. It wasn't unexpected, but how can you ever prepare yourself for losing someone you love? My heart hurts for Gabe's mom and her siblings and for his grandma. I can't go to the funeral in Iowa because my Summer II classes start this week and missing more than one lab results in an automatic drop. We had already had plans to have friends over for lunch and watch the Braves game so we went ahead with that this afternoon. I already did all of my homework for my Sports Nutrition class and now I'm just sitting back with a hot mug of green tea, listening to it rain, and watching The Devil Wears Prada. (one of my all time favorite movies) Days like today make me so thankful for what I have and how blessed I am to have certain people in my life. Anyway, I hope ya'll had a good weekend. Please keep Gabe and his family in ya'lls thoughts and prayers.

A favorite summer beauty product

Happy Thursday! With the temperatures in central Arkansas lingering around 100 for the past month, I'm all about beauty products that feel refreshing. Bliss Spa Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask is my HG. I found it last summer at Sephora when I bought a bliss spa travel set to take to Vegas and this came with it. It is absolutely amazing. I can't live without it. I'm actually out of it right now and I've been obsessing over it until I can get to Sephora in Little Rock to buy another bottle.
Here's what Sephora has to say about it:

"Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask
What it is:
A frothy mask that releases oxygen into the skin, so your complexion is instantly brighter, fresher, and younger-looking.

What it is formulated to do:
Instantly delivers a shot of oxygen, a powerhouse form of vitamin C, time-released antioxidants, and a moisture fix, to spiff up your complexion when it's looking and feeling lackluster.

What else you need to know:
Inspired by Bliss Spa's most-famous facial, which gives skin the energy it needs for everyday metabolism, collagen synthesis, and detoxifying action."
____________________________________________________________________

I use it once a week or anytime I wake up looking like a zombie and my skin needs a boost. I also love it in the winter when my skin is looking dull and I want a product that won't dry it out even more. I keep a travel size handy because it's the best way to revive your skin after a flight. So, you need this. Actually I need this because I'm literally having withdrawls from it. Bliss also has an oxygen moisturizer from this line that I'm interested in trying.
So have any of ya'll ever tried this product? What were your thoughts on it? Also, what is a product you can't live without?

I hope everyone is having a good week! We're almost to the weekend! Oh and send positive thoughts my way because I have my physics final tomorrow. Yikes!

Finally!

I have been waiting for modcloth.com to get this dress in stock in my size for over a month now. Today I finally got the email that they had it so I ordered it asap! I have a day wedding to go to in two weeks and I thought it would be perfect!

Now hopefully it fits... :)

Weekend re-cap

What a weekend! I need another weekend just to recover! Friday we were actually pretty low key. Gabe made some yummy spaghetti with his homemade red sauce and we watched movies and drank wine. It was a night we definitely needed. Saturday, Gabe and I went to my dad and step moms house to lay by the pool and grill out. It was an amazing and relaxing day. They live on a lake so we watched fireworks there that night. Sunday, we hit the lake bright and early with our friends Chad, Charlie, and Meghan & Greg. We had an absolute blast and for once I actually got some pictures!
Meg, me, and Charlie (Greg behind us being weird)

Gabe found a log to hang out on...

It was almost impossible to get one good picture of us all...
We all got a little to much sun that day. Poor Gabe still looks like a lobster.
Monday, we both had the day off so he played golf with his dad that morning then we went to lunch with his dad and youngest sister. After lunch Gabe and I went to West Little Rock to do some shopping and to see Eclipse! I loved it! My favorite movie out of the series so far. (It was also my favorite book). Gabe enjoyed it too even though he will never admit it out loud. :) I'm pretty lucky to have a guy who will sit through chick flicks with me because he knows how happy it makes me. Today it was back to the real world and it was so hard to get up this morning!
*Random* Some recent favorite outfits of mine:
Before a dinner out in Little Rock back in June. The dress is super short but I LOVE it! It's RACHEL by Rachel Roy. So comfortable! The yellow is brighter in person.

This dress is the perfect summer time day dress from Victoria Secret. It's only $29. I have it in pink, white, and black. It's great for those hot afternoons.
I hope ya'll are having a good week! :)

Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

I can't wait to see some of these:
I hope ya'll have a fun weekend planned! I'll be spending today beside my parents pool and grilling out. Tomorrow I'll be on Greers Ferry Lake on Gabe's family's boat having some fun in the sun with friends. Have a great weekend!!
