Clinique Product Reviews

Happy Friday!! Let's all breath a sigh of relief that we made it to Friday evening. This was seriously the longest week of my life. I don't know why, but it just kept dragging. So before I get to my product reviews, I have some good news... My graduation application was accepted!!! So I graduate from UCA December 18th!! Yay yay yay!! I was holding my breath all week while going through the application process. Hoping and praying my advisor hadn't missed anything. So now I feel like I can finally start planning this wedding. :)

Okay, now for the fun stuff! After my night cream debacle I was starting to panic about my dry skin and decided it was time to go old school. So off to the Clinique counter I went! Clinique is where it all started for me... In seventh grade that's where my mom took me to get my first make up lesson and load up on products. I followed the three step skin care system religiously and I loved their eye shadow. My first perfume was Clinique Happy. As I got older, I strayed away from Clinque (lets see how many time I can say "Clinique" in this post! ha.) and tried out other brands. But when it comes to skin care, I always end up coming back. I hadn't used Clinique in a few years so I didn't really even know what they had to offer me when I went in earlier this week.

First up: Clinque Super Rescue Antioxidant Night Moisturizer for Very Dry to Dry Skin. $42.50

Here's what the website says:
"No matter how well you protect your skin, sun, stress and pollution bring daily damage. Now a potent moisturizer works overnight to deliver a unique complex of eight rapid and delayed-release antioxidants that defuse this free-radical activity. Helps keep skin strong and prevent visible signs of aging."
  • Skin Types: All
  • Concern: De-Aging
The Verdict:
LOVE!!!! Oh my gosh it's like my moisturizer prayers were finally answered! This kept me hydrated all night long. And a little goes a long way with this stuff. My skin already looks healthier and more even toned. I've only been using it for a week, but so far I would give this 5 out of 5 stars in my book. I comes in three different formulas so there's something for everyone here. I also love that it's in a tube and not a jar for sanitary reasons.

Next we have: Clinique All About Eyes Rich $28.50

Here's what the website says:
"Moisture-rich eye cream diminishes the look of undereye circles, shadows, fine lines-instantly and over time. De-puffs, calms with botanicals. Helps boost natural collagen production. Strengthens skin's moisture barrier against common irritants. Ophthalmologist Tested."
  • Skin Types: All
The Verdict: This is another one I love! It hydrates very well and keeps working throughout the day and/or night. I don't really have problems with fine lines yet, but the undereye circles and puffiness definitely gets me. I think this really soothes my undereye area and just all around makes the skin look a little healthier. This is a heavier formula and they offer the original All About Eye Cream for those who don't need the heavy hydration. I will also say, this is probably the one eye cream that I've ever used that didn't make my eyes water. 5 out of 5 stars!

One more product...
Clinique Line Smoothing Concealer $14.00

What the website says:
"Actually "bridges" fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing and minimizing them for an instantly firmer look. Skin-brightening ingredients help counteract shadows, reduce redness, give skin more even tone. Ophthalmologist tested. Long-lasting, buildable."
  • Formula: Liquid Concealer
  • Coverage: Moderate
  • Benefits: Moisturizes / evens skin tone
The Verdict: I really like this concealer. I need some help under my eyes most days and every now and then with some red spots. This buildable formula covers without being cakey. And you can't beat the price. It comes in 8 different shades so there was no problem finding a good color. It really does last all day. I had it on last Saturday for tailgating and the game and I did not once need a touch up under my eyes. That was over 12 hours that it stayed on. It didn't irritate my eyes, so that was a plus. I would say 4 out of 5 stars. And the only reason I'm taking a star off is because I didn't like the packaging. I would have preferred a squeeze tube.

So there you have it! Just a reminder, I do not receive payment for any of my product reviews. So you're getting my 100% truth here.

I hope you all have a great weekend! We're staying pretty low key since the next few weekends will be crazy! Hogs take on the Bulldogs tomorrow at 11 am central time!! Woo Pig!!!!

Time For Another Product Review!

Happy Wednesday night ladies! This week is going by so slow for me! I have a ton of products to review so I will probably spread them all out through a few posts.
First up: Yes to Carrots Night Cream $14.99 (Target)

Here's what the website says about it:
"Stars aren't the only things that shine at night - so does your beautiful face! With Yes To Carrots Night Moisturizing Cream, your skin gets that extra evening boost in hydration levels. By promoting moisture retention, it softens, smooths and firms your face, leaving you emanating a gorgeous, soft, healthy glow, so bright you'll need a sleep mask to catch some zzz's!"
• Dead Sea Minerals
• Paraben Free

My Review:
I wasn't to pleased with this. I have dry skin and I really thought that this would be good for it. I also loved that it was paraben free. When I first felt this cream I was actually worried it would be too thick and might cause me to break out. When I put it on I loved the velvety texture and how it felt on my skin. Then about two minutes later my skin was already feeling dry. So I put a little bit more on and went to bed. I woke up the next morning with the driest skin I've ever had. I was actually starting to peel. I tried it for a few more nights hoping it would get better, but it never did. I would not recommend this for someone with dry skin. Maybe normal/combination? It just wasn't for me.

That's it for me tonight. I just want to say congrats to my future sister in law for her awesome new job that she got! We miss you T!

And please keep praying for Elizabeth ya'll. Visit the blog set up for her to hear her story and get updates on how she is doing. Prayers for Elizabeth

Weekend Re-cap

Hello ladies! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good! It definitely went by way too fast though. We spent Friday night getting everything ready for tailgating for the Razorback game. There's so much preparation involved! We got up bright and early Saturday morning and headed to Little Rock to set up. It rained a little bit that morning but we didn't let that get in our way. We had such a fun day seeing family and friends. The Hogs didn't play until 6 so it was a very long day for us. Hogs won (of course :) and we were literally in bed by 10:30 that night.
Here's me and my favorite baby in the world tailgating. My cousin Liam is adorable isn't he? He's seriously the happiest kid I've ever met. Love him! You can blame my overly happy face on a few adult beverages. :)

Yesterday we went to Searcy to eat lunch for my Nonnie's 68th birthday. Then Gabe had a soccer game. We were exhausted after that. Today at work I was seriously like a zombie. Sometimes I think we need a day off to recover from weekends. But I'll be wide awake tonight for the season premiere of Gossip Girl!! I can't wait to see whats in store for our favorite Upper East Siders!
Will you be tuning in to GG tonight?

Oh and I'm asking ya'll to say a prayer for a fellow Conway girl named Elizabeth. She was involved in a terrible car accident late Saturday night. Some friends of her's have set up a blog to keep everyone updated on her recovery. Prayers for Elizabeth

Recent Obsessions

1. Bath and Body Works Creamy Pumpkin Candle $19.50
Love this scent. My entire apartment smells like this right now. It's the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. And it just makes the room feel cozy.
2. Gap City Flat $39.50
Love these flats. They fold up so you can throw them in your purse for when your  4 inch heels start hurting your feet. They're also super comfy and come in a wide variety of colors. I purchased them in red and I'm already thinking I need the black ones.

3.Pumpkin Spice Lattes. OMG I have to literally restrain myself from going through the Starbucks drive through daily for one of these.

What have you been obsessed with lately? Can you believe tomorrow is Thursday?! This week flew by! I wish we had 4 day work weeks every week.

I'm Alive!!!

I can't believe I went a week and a half without blogging! My schedule is CRAZY this semester. I'm working on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays at one of the 5th and 6th grade schools here in Conway. I'm working in the office until I can start substitute teaching. Then I'm in class on Tuesday and Thursday ALL DAY. Seriously all day long. Add in wedding planning and trying to have some sort of life and blogging just doesn't fit in sometimes. But I promise to do better!

So lets play catch up shall we:
-I have a terrible case of senior-itis and going to class takes all the energy in my body that I have.

-The Hogs totally dominated Tenn Tech Saturday.Woo Pig!!

-I am not good at this wedding planning thing. I get really overwhelmed every time I think about it and I'm starting to think that maybe this is something I should wait to start on after graduation in December. Any suggestions for making wedding planning a little less stressful?

- We climbed Pinnacle Mountain on Sunday since the weather was so beautiful.
Ignore Gabe's mean face. He never smiles for pictures.

-I did a little fall shopping yesterday!! Got lots of cute stuff from Dillards and I can't wait to show ya'll!

-Something getting me through this week is the fact that the Hogs play in Little Rock this Saturday!! I can't wait to tailgate!

-I've started getting all of my fall decorations out and my house now smells like pumpkin thank to Bath and Body Works wall flowers and candles. :)

That's about it for me today. I hope ya'll are having a good Tuesday!
