Pre-Vacation Shopping

Um long time no blog! I got a little distracted last week by all things wedding. Seriously I'm looking forward to the day when this wedding doesn't take up at least 90% of my thoughts. Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited for the wedding and I absolutely cannot wait to be married. I'm just over the whole planning thing. Let's just do this thing already! :)

Anyway, no worries because in 3 weeks we will be cruising in the Caribbean for our Spring Break! (can I still call it Spring Break since we've both graduated college??) I've been doing a little shopping lately preparing for this trip. Here's a few of my favs I've come across:

These next 3 weeks need to fly by!! Have a good Monday!

My Weekend

I meant to post this yesterday, but I got distracted and forgot!
We had a great weekend and Valentines day. Friday night we went to dinner with some friends then called it an early night.
Saturday, we started the day with breakfast from Starbucks then did a little house hunting. That afternoon we headed to the movie theatre to watch:
Cute movie, not much substance, but still cute. Saturday night we stayed in and caught up on some of our tv shows.
Sunday the weather was absolutely gorgeous!
Yes, that says 70 degrees! And the warmer temps are sticking around for at least another week. We decided to take advantage of the warmer temps and sunshine and go for a hike. We went to a trail at Cadron Creek that we had never tried before. It was weird because there was still snow on the ground, yet it was so warm.

Monday, we both had to work of course, but I did get these beauties:
After work, we made our way to Little Rock to eat at SO. The food was amazing and Gabe and I had a wonderful time unwinding over a bottle of wine.
We have an appointment for massages after work today and I can't wait!

Hope you all had a good weekend and V-day!

Show Us Your Life- Beauty Secrets

Happy Friday!! I decided to link up with Kelly's Korner today for Show Us Your Life. I haven't ever done one of these before, but today's topic was right up my alley. I'm always trying new products and reviewing them here on my blog. There are some products, though, that have become staples for me.

First up: Favorite Skin Care Products
I have washed my face with Cetaphil since Junior High. It's so gentle on my skin and gets my makeup off with no problem. I would buy this by the gallon if I could!

Clinque All About Eyes Rich. Best eye cream for 20 somethings. The best way to prevent wrinkles is to keep skin moisturized. This does the trick and it great for those with sensitive eyes like me.

I love Jergens Natural Glow products. I use the face lotion daily to keep me from looking ghostly. I add a few drops of this to my daytime moisturizer. I also use the foam for my body. It works great, doesn't smell terrible, and drys instantly.

Korres Yogurt Mask. This product has been a lifesaver for me this winter. I use it after I exfoliate to help minimize irritation and give my skin a moisture boost.

Favorite Makeup Products:

Diorshow mascara. I have used this for years. I always think I will find something I like better and I always end up coming back to this. It's one of the only mascara's that doesn't irritate my eyes and it make my lashes look amazing.

Lancome Teint Miracle Foundation. This is the lightest feeling foundation. It feels like a tinted moisturizer, yet covers like a dream. It has light reflecting particles so you don't look flat.

Make Up Forever HD Powder. This is a great finishing powder. It's translucent and gives you an airbrushed look. It's so lightweight that it's unbelievable.

Favorite Hair Products:
Freeze It hair spray. So cheap and so great for poofing your hair. I have used this since high school and I seriously won't buy anything else.

Living Proof Full Thickening Cream. Before I starting using this I never put any products in my hair before blow drying because it would weigh my hair down. But this stuff is so different from any other thickening products. I highly recommend this to anyone with fine, thin hair.

Tesemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray. I use this before using a flat iron or curling iron. It works just as well as more expensive brands.

So there you have it! Those are my absolute favorite beauty products that have a permanent place in my beauty product collection. What are some of ya'lls favorite products that you can't live without?

Have a good weekend!!

Craving Spring

I don't know about you guys, but I am over winter. Have been since New Year's day. I find myself filling my snow days browsing different websites dreaming of Spring clothes, shoes, and handbags. Some of my guilty pleasures:

Inspired by Rachel Zoe herself, these jeans are a breath of fresh air from all the skinny jeans and jeggings I've been wearing. I ordered these yesterday and I can't wait to get them in!

What are ya'll looking forward to for Spring?

Snowed In... Again + Winter hair and skin help

Oh my goodness we are snowed yet again! Since I last posted last Wednesday, we have had THREE different snow storms. Three. Today's was the biggest. We got about 8 in. of snow throughout the day. I know for some of you that is nothing, but we're not used to this kind of weather in Arkansas. But there is relief in sight, the 10 day forecast is showing mid 60s and sunny all next week! Anyway, this crazy cold weather has wreaked havoc on my skin and hair. All winter, I have been snatching up different products to try and fix the damage that the cold temps and dry air are doing.

First Problem: Dry, dull looking hair
The Fix: Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Renewing Treatment
This deep conditioning treatment contains argan oil, antioxidants, and vitamin E to moisturize your hair and keep it looking healthy and shiny. I love it. I slather this stuff on like 4 times a week. I usually leave it on for 3 or 4 minutes in the shower, but sometimes, if I've been particularly harsh on my hair I'll put it on my hair while it's dry. I'll sit with it on for 30 minutes or so, then rinse and shampoo as usual. I like this product because while it does the job at moisturizing my hair, it doesn't leave me feeling greasy like some deep conditioning treatments. And the best part? It's CHEAP! Like under $6.00 cheap. Always a win in my book.

Problem #2: My dull, dry skin has my makeup looking flat
The Fix: Boots No7 Instant Radiance Beauty Balm
This is basically just a "booster" I put on over my usual daytime moisturizer. It has light diffusing particles to give skin a glow. It also contains almond oil to help boost skins moisture level. It has made all the difference in the world with how my makeup looks this winter. The lotion is very light and silky so I don't feel like I have too much stuff on my face. So now my morning routine goes like this: cleanse, moisturizer, eye cream, beauty balm, then makeup. Sometimes I'll dab some on my cheekbones and around my eyes after I have all of my makeup on to get a little extra glow. It comes in a 1 oz bottle with a pump top. (which I love) And a little goes a LONG way with this. One bottle lasted me 3 months. It costs about $15 at Target.

Problem # 3: Dry patches on my face no matter how much I exfoliate and moisturize.
The fix: Burt's Bee's Naturally Ageless Intensive Repair Serum
Sometimes no matter what I do, my skin is just DRY! I found this serum back in December at Walgreens. I was surprised when I opened the box when I got home and discovered it's actually an oil. At first I was thinking oh great I just wasted $25 on something I'm not going to use. But that night I just went for it, applying it to my cheeks, under eye area, and neck before putting on my night cream. Then I went to bed and prayed I didn't wake up with a horrible breakout or something equally as horrifying. I was pleasantly surprised the next day when my skin was still feeling moisturized and felt so unbelievably smooth. I only use this a few nights a week when my skin feels like it needs a little extra TLC. Since I've been applying it around my eyes, I've noticed that my sun damage has diminished a little and the sensitive skin around my eyes has an improved moisture barrier, even when I don't have the product on. Pomegranate extract is what makes this oil such a miracle worker. It's a little pricey, but the bottle lasts forever. I highly recommend this to anyone who suffers from dry skin issues like me. It also does wonders for dry elbows!

Sorry for rambling on! Sometimes it's hard for me to get my point across in a few sentences about products I love. Just a reminder, I'm not paid for any product reviews. I spend my own money and give you my honest, unbiased opinion. :)

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Sorry for my absence...

About two weeks ago I started coming down with something. This ended up spiraling in to what could only be described as the flu from hell or the plague. It was quite terrible. I had an entire week off work and couldn't seem to find the energy to blog. Anyway, I'm back in good health now and I'm feeling totally out of the loop in the blogging world. I have lots of catching up to do on all of your blogs. A few little updates on what's been going on around here:
  • I found my wedding dress!! We went shopping last Saturday and it was the the third dress I tried on. It's perfect and I couldn't be happier.
  • For anyone looking for a wedding dress in the central Arkansas area, I highly recommend Proposals in Little Rock. It's in the Heights area and it's wonderful! Great service and an amazing amount of dresses to choose from.
  • We went from 70 degree weather to 20 degree weather in a matter of days. I drove to work yesterday in a hurricane of a rain storm and temps in the upper 50s. By the time I left in the afternoon, it was about 28 degrees and the door handles on my car had frozen. Ugh! I'm over winter. Hurry up spring!
  • I'm loving this Diane Von Furstenberg dress

So nothing to exciting going on here. I'm still substitute teaching while looking for a job. And I'm more than ready for our cruise we're taking in March! I need some fun in the sun!

Have a good afternoon ya'll!
