Weekend Re-cap : Homecoming Weekend!
Hey ya'll! I hope everyone has had a great weekend! This weekend was our alma mater's homecoming and our schedule was jam packed with alumni events. I didn't get many pictures, but we had so much fun!
I wish I had taken more pictures! It was seriously such a great weekend. I was almost in tears when I had to say goodbye to Catherine and Christine. (they both moved away after graduation)
Today has just been a lazy day for me. The hubby is playing golf with his dad, so I have just curled up on the couch to watch movies and got a little housework done. I can't believe how fast this weekend went!
Have a great afternoon ya'll!
At Gabe's fraternity alumni banquet. I love these girls! It's funny how I met some of my best friends through Gabe's fraternity.
At the Homecoming game with Christine and Catherine!
Of course we had to eat Mexican food after the game!
Christine was serenaded at dinner!

Favorite Halloween Movies
October is seriously one of my favorite months of the year. I love everything about it, including curling up with my Hubby to watch Halloween movies! Here are some of my all time favs:
The Nightmare Before Christmas
The Shining
By far one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen. It get's me everytime!
Hocus Pocus
This is one of my absolute favorite movies ever! I am not ashamed to say that I own this on VHS and DVD.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
I am a huge Tim Burton fan and this is probably my favorite out of all of his movies. I actually have the theme song "This is Halloween" on my ipod. Yeah...
The original Halloween
Who doesn't love this classic? I'm usually not a fan of gory movies but this one is a must watch every year.
Poltergeist
"They're here..." This movie is the reason why I'm afraid everywhere I live is on an ancient Indian burial
ground.
Halloweentown
Ok, you can think I'm a loser for putting this movie on my list, but it seriously just makes me so nostalgic for my childhood! I made Gabe watch it the other night and he moaned and groaned the entire time. Haha the things my husband puts up with....
The Skeleton Key
LOVE this Kate Hudson movie. I have always loved New Orleans and the culture. And Voodoo is just plain scary!
What are some of your favorite Halloween movies?

Lets Talk About Biscuits and Chocolate Gravy....
Growing up in the South, biscuits and chocolate gravy were (and still are) a staple at breakfast. Especially at my Nonnies house. I honestly never knew it was a Southern thing until I met my husband. (his family is from Iowa) Gabe thought I was crazy the first time I made it for him! It quickly became one of his favorite breakfasts though. Lately, I have seen a couple of recipes floating around on Pinterest. Well, today, I'm going to share my Nonnie's chocolate gravy recipe with you. This is the one that I grew up with. You can make it on the stove or in the microwave. Whatever tickles your fancy.
You need:
1 c sugar
1 T flour
3 T cocoa
1 c milk
2 T butter
1 t vanilla
Mix sugar, flour, and cocoa. Stir in milk. Cook in microwave or on stove until thickend. Add butter and vanilla. Serve over hot, buttered biscuits. Enjoy!
*To be honest I make my biscuits using Bisquick. Don't judge!*
So tell me, did any of ya'll grow up eating biscuits and chocolate gravy? If so, share your recipe!
