Reading: Good Christian Bitches by Kim Gatlin. I wanted to read this before the show aired on ABC last Sunday, but I'm only about a quarter of the way through. I'll do a review when I finish it.

Q&A Monday

<>

Happy Monday! I decided to participate in Q&A Mondays with Pretty in Pink Megan and Shasta Anne this week.

I'm not really in to making a vlog so I'm just going to answer the questions the old school way:

1. If you were in a pageant and had to perform a talent, what would it be?

Um... dancing?? Maybe?? Not really sure on that one!

2. What is your biggest beauty-related regret? (mall bangs, biker shorts, bronzer overload, etc)

In junior high I had a thing for pastel eye shadow. Blue, purple, green, you name it and I wore it. Add copious amounts of body glitter and my stick straight hair and I was hot stuff! Another one in my more grown up life was probably the game day make up I had to wear as a college cheerleader. Lots of purple eye shadow and red lipstick. Go Bears! Ugh.... so bad.

3. Do you have a celebrity look-alike?

I've heard Lauren Conrad but I don't really think I have one though.

4. What is your natural hair color?

Dark brown believe it or not. Really dark. I've kept it on the blonde side for a good ten years now. I'm starting to play with going dark again by doing the ombre thing. Not really sure how I feel about it.

5. Ever met a celebrity?

Does Carrot Top count? I met him while eating dinner in Vegas last year. I've met Scottie Pippen a time or two. I saw George Clooney filming a movie in Vegas, but didn't get to actually meet him sadly.Kris Allen (American Idol winner. I cheered with his brother in college) I think that's it...

6. Fave/least fave housewife from any of the Real Housewives shows on BRAVO?

I love Kyle Richards on RHOBH and I hate Tamera on RHOOC

7. Workout regimen?

I usually do cardio 4 times a week for about 20-30 minutes and I do strength training 3 times a week. I'm wanting to add some yoga in there soon and maybe knock off a day of cardio. I don't need to lose any weight at all. I just like to maintain where I'm at, stay toned, and keep my heart healthy.

8. Dream gift?

Right now a new car. Are you reading this Hubby?!

9. Are you a good/bad cook?

I'm not really in to cooking. I'm not necessarily bad at it, I just don't like doing it. Luckily, I have a great husband who enjoys cooking and he takes care of it most of the time. I do love to bake though! It's so relaxing for me.

10. What is your favorite food?

Oh that's hard... I think I would have to say spaghetti. I don't know why, but I could honestly eat it every day. Blueberries are my second favorite food.

Have a good Monday ya'll!!

Parrotheads

TGIF!! This week was a long one for me. I don't know if I have ever been so happy to see the weekend. We did, however, have a fun night out last night for the Jimmy Buffett concert in Little Rock. The hubs and I may have been the youngest people there but we still had a blast!

Shirt: Old Navy, Jeans: J Brand, Shoes: Tory Burch, Necklace via local boutique, Watch: Michael Kors, Clutch: Tory Burch

With my Mom, Step-dad, and hubby

My parents friends joined us too!

I'm not going to lie, those middle age Parrotheads know how to have a good time! My parents and their friends were cracking us up. The couple sitting behind us at the concert were probably in their 70s and they were dancing in the aisle! The people in front of us were in elaborate pirate costumes! I wish I could have gotten a picture of them. They were way into the whole thing. I would definitely go to another Buffett concert if I have the chance. It's an experience for sure.

We have a low key weekend planned and I am so thankful! Have a good one ya'll!

What I've Been Up to Lately

Oh hi! I can't believe it's been almost two months since I blogged last. I could give you a list of excuses of why I'm a horrible blogger, but none are very good. Anyway, a few things I've been up to:

  • I bought pink jeans. Old Navy -$19.00. Such a steal!! Can't wait to wear these!

  • I had the flu, then bronchitis for three weeks, and then a severe sinus infection that lasted two weeks. Ten pounds lost and two months later, I am finally feeling better! Let's hope no more sickness for a VERY long time!
  • I have been trying out the "top knot" or "fun bun" a lot lately. It's an easy hairstyle for mornings when I really don't want to do anything.
Shirt: Anthropologie, Jeans: J Brand, Shoes: Gap City Flats

  • It has been so Spring-y here lately! I love it! We've been spending a lot more time outdoors and that is definitely a welcome change. Good riddance winter!
  • I got these beauties the other day! So in love!
So perfect for Spring... Thanks Tory!
  • Gabe and I have been married almost 8 months! Oh my gosh! Where has the time gone??
  • I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about the direction that I want this blog to go in. It has always been such a mish-mash of things. I feel like I need to get a firm grasp on what this blog is about and be more organized. I would love advice from fellow bloggers on this!
  • My two year blog-aversary was this month. Insane. You would think that after two years I would be better at this. I'm not.
  • I really need to change my email address associated with this blog. It's old and I rarely check it. I promise I'm not being shady if I never respond to stuff.
  • Switching gears a little... I recently got into the show The Lying Game on ABC Family. Yes I know it's like for 16 year olds, but when I was at home sick I got sucked into a marathon one day. Now it's a staple in my DVR. Kind of embarrassing!

Well that's all I have for now! Have a good night!

Winter Skin Help

Hey ya'll! I'm finally ready to get back to posting about beauty products and other superficial things :) Plus I am still laid up on the couch sick. It seems my flu has turned into bronchitis. So looks like I'll be taking it easy for a few more days.

I have discovered some pretty amazing products this winter to help combat dry, icky skin. Here are the one's I can't live without. For now anyway!

1. Philosophy hope in a jar for dry skin
Love this thick, creamy moisturizer. It has been my saving grace for night time hydration lately. I just bought my second jar. Check it out at Sephora.com!

2. Clairsonic Mia 2
I got this for Christmas and I love it! My face feels so clean and smooth after I use this. I feel like I am finally getting all of my makeup off at night and that the products I'm using are sinking in better.  via Sephora

3. SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Mask
My facialist recently gave me a large sample of this mask and it is amazing. It uses B vitamins and Hyaluronic acid to deliver an extra boost of moisture to dry, dull skin. I usually use this one night a week. via SkinCeuticals

4. SkinCeuticals  Hydrating B5 Gel
This gel serum is loaded with vitamin B5 and Hyaluronic acid. (like the mask from #3). I use this serum day and night under moisturizer. It really helps plump this skin and hold in essential moisture. via SkinCeuticals

5. L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Golden Balm Eye Cream
Okay, this eye balm says it's for "mature skin", which my 24 year old skin is not. But it has been my favorite new product by far! What I love about it is how thick it is. My eye area is really affected by dry, winter air. This honestly is the best eye cream I have ever used. It keeps me extremely hydrated and doesn't irritate my eye. Plus you can pick it up at the drugstore for around $17.00. I think this is a steal since it rivals much more expensive creams I have tried. I will definitely be buying this again.

6. Cetaphil
The old standby. I know I keep beating this product into your heads, but that's because I truly love it. It helps to break down makeup and it doesn't irritate your skin. If you aren't using this yet, then go buy it now. It's under ten dollars so what do you have to lose?

There you have it! My winter skin savers! If you have any product recommendations, let me know!
Have a good Thursday!
